Confused about housing payments

I was going to call today, but my AP test was administered late so I didn't get home until about 5:30...

Anyway, first off I can't figure out which initial payment I'm supposed to do. I got Hedrick Summit as a Triple Shared, but I don't see a plaza, one room, shared bath. Is it the two room, 3 per room one? I'm really confused.

Then on top of that, I don't even know how I'm supposed to go about it. I'm getting financial aid and it's supposed to cover my housing but everything is through that BruinDirect thing which I can't even apply for because my checking account is a student account = not 18 therefore don't have checks. I was going to talk to my bank too but my AP test was late. Arg.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you don't happen to link your bruindirect to any checking account, they will just send checks to you and you can just deposit those and make your housing payments. I totally forgot to do that and I was mailed my first financial aid checks for the first semester.

For housing you just pay by yourself as if you were buying something online. Of course you will be getting financial aid in your checking account, so its not like you are paying out of pocket. It's just that you have to actually go to a site and input how much to pay.

yes, you do pay housing online using a card. but figure out before next year if your card is just a debit card, or if it's a credit card too.
my debit card has a daily withdrawal limit of around $250. so i can't make my own housing payments.
if that's the case for you, figure out if you want to get a credit card this summer. if not, you need to find some other workaround so you don't end up with "payment denied" the last day before your first housing is due

Or get a CC linked to your parents name. You can have a huge CC limit if you are fairly new to getting actual credit.

yes, since it's shared, it would be 2-room, 3 per room.

hmm, for me, I couldn't pay housing with a credit card since my credit line isn't that high, but I can pay with a debit card.

If you can't afford initial housing payment without financial aid then choose payment plan G so that initial payment is reduced, but added on to the quarterly payments. Otherwise, you can pay it now and you'll get financial aid for it later (mid-September).

I believe you can also use BruinDirect with a savings account + deposit slip.

Thanks you guys! The info was really helpful! I really appreciate it. I hate the undergrad office is only open 1-4 because I never seem to be home or near a phone during that time. Free the rest of the day, just not then... and during school.
