So I am a girl, and I definitely do not want to live in an all-girl dorm (Balch). But a questionnaire on the housing form asks if you want single-sex floor/hall/dorm, coed, or no preference. If i put down that I want single-sex, does that mean I have a possibility of getting Balch? But if I put down coed, does that mean that there will be guys living right next door to me? I can't imagine sharing a bathroom with boys... ugh. I would prefer a floor or hall of girls, but not a whole building full of them. Which choice am I suppose to choose??

Freshman dorms that are "co-ed" may have both genders on the same floor, but they do not share bathrooms...the girls are in one section of the hall, the boys are in another...while you may be headed to the bathroom in your robe and encounter a male in the hall, you should not have to encounter one in the shower.

hope that helps....

if you put single sex you will get Balch. if you put co-ed its likely that youll live with a group of girls and won't have guys right next door. not a guarantee though...I live in a completely mixed hall where guys and girls do live right next door to each other. we don't share a bathroom though. as for sharing bathrooms, I think Donlon has some co-ed bathrooms, but there are always single sex bathrooms.

How many people are there usually to a bathroom?
