I know the interview process will be different at each BS/ MD program, but generally how does it work? Do you schedule your own interview with the undergrad college as a senior? Do you have to be a senior to schedule one, or can I just do one now? To my understanding, undergrad interviews are very important. And I think med schools do interviews after picking select applications from the BS/MD pile. Help appreciated!

It honestly depends for every school. Brown, for example, only has alumni interviews- they contact you, and it has nothing to do with the med program. For nearly every other program, they contact you for an interview. Some, before the undergrad acceptance (such as Northwestern, TCNJ, GW, BU, Penn State, etc.,), some after (Case, Drexel, VCU, Albany, UConn, etc.). Most interview notifications come out around mid-late January, but some as early as November (TCNJ for example), and some as late as March (Rice). Some have one round of interviews, some have 2 (TCNJ/NJMS).

Long story short, it varies a LOT. Your best bet is to apply widely and hope for the best, because even getting an interview is very competitive. Make sure you meet all the deadlines and complete all supplements and requirements (some want specific teacher recommendations, specific essays that have to be mailed in and not part of common app, specific subject tests, etc.).
If you have questions about specific programs, I can try to help.

Thank you so much for you help! I kinda understand now. Okay, so lets take University of Rochester REMS for example.
The regular undergrad college says you have to schedule your own interview. ([University of Rochester : Visit Campus : Interviews](http://enrollment.rochester.edu/admissions/visit/interviews.shtm))

But according to this site ([University of Rochester : College Admissions](http://enrollment.rochester.edu/admissions/CAPs/REMS/apply.shtm)) REMS people get their own special interviews that the admissions call for both times.

For REMS, I believe they invite you for an interview for the med program. you can schedule your own alumni interview (which is the first link you provided) for the traditional 4yr program at the school but this won’t affect your REMS application at all. So, if you really like the school and would go there without the med program, I suggest doing the alumni interview. As for REMS, it’s out of your hands after you submit the supplement and it’s up to them if you get an interview or not.

So…if I want to show them I am REALLY interested in Rochester, I should schedule my own interview for regular undergrad, right?

Yes! Also try to visit campus if you haven’t already, to show interest.
