Confused about National AP Scholar Award

If you only qualify for the award after taking exams senior year, how will it even help you with college at all?

It won’t. That’s why you have to qualify in your junior year. I received my recognition in August or September of my senior year, which gave me the opportunity to note the award on my college application.

It may also be helpful after college admissions, for transferring, applying for internships, etc.

agree with entomom. I got AP Scholar with Distinction after junior year so I got to put it in my applications for college. I didn’t take enough APs for National AP Scholar after senior year, but I still scored well enough for AP Scholar with Distinction.

I’'m applying to a premed program at my university this fall, and they actually want my ACT/SAT scores, as well as honors such as AP Scholar, National Merit, etc.
