Confused about Physics Placement Exam?

I wanted to take a physics course at UCI, but I didn't take physics in high school. On the testing center website it says:

"If you score less than 75% on the Physics 7C placement test you will eligible for one of the following courses:

Physics 7A (for all students in the School of Physical Sciences). Successful completion of Physics 7A will allow students to take Physics 7B in winter quarter and Physics 7D in spring quarter."

I'm confused about the 7C thing because I thought Physics was a 7 series (a,b,d,e). And if I choose not to take the placement exam (because I probably won't pass since I didn't take a course), can I still take physics 7A and then take the rest of the series?? I'm seriously confused...

pass = 7C 7D 7E (starting at winter)
no pass = 7A 7B 7D 7E (starting from fall)
or Physics 2, 7C, 7D, 7E (starting from fall)

Pass the exam if you want to skip a quarter of physics. I heard its online so yeah. I wouldn’t cheat tho, if you don’t remember your stuff in high school you should just take the 7A or physics 2.

Ok, so if I DON’T take the exam at all, I can still take 7A and continue the 7 series? Taking the exam just lets you skip the first part of it? And also, if I don’t pass the Calculus placement exam, and take math 2A, it means I can’t take physics at all, right? Because I thought you had to take that before physics or be taking it while you are taking physics…

you have to take the exam, and then fail in order to take physics 7a in the fall. least for me, i did.

stupid, i know.

Wow, that is really dumb. Well failing it shouldn’t be a problem, lol, since I don’t know a lot about it.
