Hi guys, I recently gave my SAT in Jan.
It was my first SAT and I didn’t prepare much. I panicked and I’m not sure how well I did, I can’t predict what I will get, I could get a score in the 1700s or in 2200s and I wouldn’t be surprised.
After I gave my SAT, I got an email from Collegeboard which told me I could send my SAT scores for free to 4 universities till 2nd Feb (tomorrow), I’m not sure whether I should or should not. That’s why I need some advice and opinions.
I’m not sure how well I did but I could’ve done better. If I do send my scores and they turn out to be bad, will it hurt my chances later if I retake the SAT and get a better score? Also, on the flip side, if I don’t send them, will I be able to send them later? I’m aiming for some good US unis preferably Ivy. Should I send my scores or not?
Wait till you get your scores since it is your first time taking the test. You an always send them later, if they turn out to be very good. But you have to pay. Depending upon the school, many will require you send all scores, so I would wait until you have finished taking the SAT and Subject tests and send them all at once. Some schools will superscore and some will take the best score from one sitting. It really depends upon where you are applying.
Thank you @gumbymom. How much will I have to pay, an estimate will do? It won’t be a lot, right?
$11.25/report. For some schools such as the UC’s, you only need to send 1 report and the campuses will share. For other schools, you have to send them to each individual school. It wll depend upon where you are applying.
