Confused about sending tax forms for CSS Profile

We have 4 schools that want the CSS Profile to be completed. My husband completed the online portion over the weekend and found out the schools want a copy of our tax forms. Only 1 of the 4 schools accepts IDOC, so I’m seems like the other 3 accept the forms through a combination of email or snail mail. Is any else sending out tax forms in the mail to colleges? This is the first year we are filling out the CSS Profile and I feel a bit confused.

I think pretty much every college that requires Profile also asks for tax forms, with possibly a few exceptions. Those schools that don’t use IDOC will tell you how they want the documents sent to them. The most convenient, quickest and safest way is probably through an online document upload feature accessed through the school’s website or a student/applicant portal, but other schools will ask for hard copies delivered through U.S. mail, a fax transmission or an email attachment.

We have to send tax forms to one of my daughter’s CSS profile schools and I was worried about faxing or mailing them but I think we can just scan them and upload them to her student profile/account at that school now that she has one after submitting her application. Planning on doing that tomorrow.

It is one of the nightmares of applying to college, IMHO. There is a lot of variety in what schools want and how they want it. It can be different for each school, so you have to figure that out.

We just mailed the doc’s in, not to bad, stick to the directions, send them by fedex or ups usps, print off the checklist to keep you straight.
