Confused about Submitting FAFSA Docs.

Am I supposed to submit anything? I checked my financial aid and all it says is that my FAFSA was received on 01/22/09 and there’s nothing for me to send in. Does this mean that I have to wait or what?

theres nothing under required documents?

Nope, absolutely nothing.

^ Then no, you do not have to submit anything.

Can anyone tell me how to check if they need more forms, I cannot find the link to that for some odd reason.
I haven’t received and email or any other mail saying I need to do so either…

[UCSB Financial Aid](http://www.finaid.ucsb.edu/)

click “Check your Aid Status” (3rd pic on the top)

scroll down…press here to continue

log in

click “required documents”

email was sent to umail address

For some reason I keep getting a “The page must be viewed over a secure channel” error and I cant open that page.
Ugh! :(

when you get to that…

if the url says http://blah blah
change it to https:// blah blah and refresh

see if adding the “s” helps

I got there, and then I cant even log in because I never created UCSBnetID
I haven’t been able to log into u-mail, it keeps saying “no records match the information you provided”. I am pretty sure I know all of the info to create the account on this page, https://secureweb.umail.ucsb.edu/identity/
I dont know what could be wrong.
Thank for all the help!!

EDIT: I think I just figured out to use U-Mail, the SIR must have been submitted. I can’t do that because I am waiting for other schools. I guess I have to call them to see if they need additional forms?

sooo
they asked for both my parents’ w-2 forms and mine, but i didn’t file any taxes!! i put that on the fafsa online, but they still said they needed my signed w-2!! what am i supposed to do??

It’s only if you have w-2s.

They just match it up with your FAFSA to make sure that info is correct.

To be on the safe side…maybe have a letter enclosed stating that you did not work that year, and therefore had no w-2s or tax returns.

Do I have it right that to register for U-Mail that I first have to submit my SIR?

I called exactly about that, Shahran, and they said that the in the Dependent Verification form that there is a box that you can choose that states you didnt work and if you pick that box then your own W-2s are not needed.

^Oh yeah, forgot about that box.
XP

I think that was intended for Cynstoletheworld. :)

oh okay!! well whew (is that how you spell that???)!! that clears a lot of things up.
thanks guys!!!

AHHH how do I convince my stepmom I need to do this asap? she doesn’t want me to do it today nor tomorrow and thinks I got all the time in the world to turn them in. its so damn annoying…

there;s a due date on the page that request your income tax returns.

I know, I like to get things finished so we are on time but she wants me to wait…anyway its fine I got it finished with my dad.

Oh my god…I sent my financial aid doc.s YESTERDAY from the OC and they already received them! thats crazy! But now I gotta wait four weeks…
