Confused about the Calculus Requirement..

So I applied to the Cockrell School of Engineering for computer engineering and I don't meet the calculus requirement yet. I have an SAT math score of a 600 and so I'm "able to continue through the admissions process." Currently I am taking a dual credit precalculus course and I was wondering if I could take Calculus I in the summer and then take the ALEKS exam. Is this possible? When is the latest that I can meet the calculus requirement?

From the Non-CNS incoming students FAQ’s"

Q. What if I do not obtain the required minimum score for the course I wish to take?

A. To enroll in Math 303D, 305G, 316, 408K, 408N or 408C or SSC 302, 303, 304, 305, or 306 students are required to obtain a minimum ALEKS placement score** before the 5th class day.** While you may retake the assessment for $10 (each retake), this must be done** by the 5th class day** in order for the assessment to count as your placement. After the 5th class day, you will be dropped from any math or SSC class for which you have not achieved the appropriate ALEKS score.

If you do not reach the minimum score required for a Math course, you may enroll in the appropriate preparatory course dependent upon your ALEKS score.

Math 310T prepares you for Math 305G.

Math 305G prepares you for Math 408K, 408N, or 408C.

If you do not meet the minimum score required for a SSC course you will not be eligible to be enrolled and will be dropped from the course on** the 5th class day** of the spring, 2011 semester.
