<p>Oh well. That means I won’t be able to TAG with UCSD, but hopefully I won’t need it since I’m also aiming for Berkeley and UCLA (you know, schools without TAG).</p>
<p>You can still apply to UCSD this Fall. Just make sure to complete IGETC and 60 units by Spring 2013 along with any prerequisites.</p>

The wording is extremely ambiguous and I’m not sure why UCSD approached it this way but read this thread and call them yourself for reassurance.

In short, those 30 uc transferable units from a cc need to be done before transferring. But in total, 60 uc transferable units from combined 4-year institutions and cc need to be achieved before transferring.

<p>1.) You have to have thirty UC transferable units completed at a community college in order to apply for TAG in the Fall. Neither in progress nor AP units count.</p>
<p>2.) You need sixty UC transferable units in order to complete the transfer by the end of the Spring. These units can come from APs and other four-year institutions.</p>
<p>It’s bogus that the UCs are so picky about the first thirty units for TAG, yet the last thirty can come from anything. Whatever. I decided that I am going to pursue the extra necessary units anyway. It just means that I will have to take two classes in the winter session instead of one, and in the Spring I’ll have to take a five unit science + lab combo. (Really wanted to take Astronomy but it’s only a four unit class with the lab.) :(</p>

if you look at irvine’s requirement, it clearly states that those 30 uc transferable units need to done at a ccc.</p>
