I applied to Carolina for Sophomore status and I am yet to recieve my decision. I know I had been talking to a lot of you on the board leading up to the day of decisions and when everyone else found out April 12th I didn't. Furthermore, when it did say a decision had been made (the next day, April 13th) on my application I clicked on the link and it said my application was still under review and that I would be notified in the next few weeks. I know many people who have been accepted, rejected, and waitlisted but I only know of ONE other person who is still waiting to hear back like I am. I don't understand why Carolina would let the vast majority of people know their decisions but mine is one of the few applications under review. I've gotten a lot of opinions, which are appreciated, but I still feel that I'm stuck in limbo. Does anybody have any clue as to what this means? I'd be extremely grateful.

I haven't kept up with your other postings about this, but I assumed you called the office and talked to someone? Either way, I'd call again. That seems really strange to me.

yea I called admissions and the lady said they hadn't made decisions on some of the applications yet and that a decision should be made within the next few days. it's been a few days and nothing still.

I actually don't think it hurts to call again. Say just what you said here, and ask if there's anything you need to supply for them that might help speed up the process.

One thing I will add-- I don't know where you live, but we had terrible rain and wind, causing power outages--including in Chapel Hill--yesterday and today. Even if the University didn't lose power (and I'm not sure they didn't), parts of the town certainly did, and it's quite possible admissions people didn't make it into work on Monday, which might have slowed down things. We live in another town nearby and lost power, which we only just got back today-- lots of trees falling on houses, etc.
