Confused about which scores to send?

Alright so the first time I took the SAT, I got a 1980 (670 math, 660 cr, and 650 writing). I just retook it, and I feel I did much better, at least on the math. I seem to always get flustered on math MCQ's, despite being okay in math. On my subject tests, I've gotten a 790 hist, 660 Math Lev. 1, and 650 Bio. I've also taken 4 AP classes my junior year, and I got 2 5's (Comp sci and hist) and 2 4's (bio and english). I am really confused about what scores to submit to my schools. Planning on being either business or econ major.

NYU Stern says
" * The SAT Reasoning Test or;
* The ACT (with Writing Test) or;
* Three SAT Subject Test scores (one in literature or the humanities, one in math or science, and one non-language test of the student’s choice) or;
* Three AP exam scores earned prior to senior year (one in literature or the humanities, one in math or science, and one non-language of the student’s choice)

Note: Applicants to the Stern School of Business who choose to submit SAT Subject Tests or AP Exam scores must provide a score from a mathematics examination."

That's where I'm planning to ED. Also applying to Univ. of Chicago (reach I know), Northeastern, Fordham, and UConn Ea. So, which scores should I send to NYU and the first 3 schools I listed? (Uconn EA is not till Dec. 1st).

Also, my four free score reports expire today, so I really want to know where and what I should send (will it also send my latest (best) SAT score when it comes out if I send the score reports.)

Your four free score reports are for October test. If you designate a free send now, that test and all prior SAT and SAT II tests will be sent to the designated college when the Oct score comes out unless you exercise score choice to prevent a prior test from being sent.

For NYU Stern, you cannot meet the AP requirement if you want to rely only on APs because you do not have a math – Comp Sci is not a math for that requirement. You cannot meet the SAT II requirements because you don’t have a literature or humanities. You do meet the SAT requirement. Frankly, I would send all your SAT and SAT II scores to NYU (which will automatically happen if you designate it as a free send for the Oct test and don’t exercise score choice). The SAT IIs may be considered in your favor even if you are an SAT applicant (note it will superscore your SAT so if Oct test has any sections higher than prior section scores those new section scores will be considered for admission). If you want Stern to know your AP scores just self-report them on App, in essay, or send a copy of your scores with a letter to its office of admission and ask the letter and copy be included in your admission file. In other words, you don’t need to pay the fee to send AP scores (until after you are admitted and want college credit for them).

For the others you list do not pay to send any official AP scores, just do same as suggested above for NYU. I would just send all official SAT and SAT II scores to them as long as it is done at once for each and thus you do not have to pay for separate sends to the same college. UChicago does not require but will consider SAT IIs if they help you. The others you list probably won’t even look at your SAT IIs because they don’t use IIs for admission but no harm in sending them.

Thanks a lot drusba, that’s the kind of reply I was looking for. So I guess it is better to send all your scores, even if they are somehwhat medicore?

Those SAT IIs are not really mediocre for NYU and the ones other than history (which is very high) are in NYU’s average range.

Oh, I just felt like if I was majoring in business/econ then sending the Math I subject scores wouldn’t help my cause.

bump! any last opinions on whether I should send a 660 Math Lev 1 score to NYU for stern?
