I am an incoming student.
I got my advisor's email a few days ago about registration on SSOL. She said students will register from 24th through 26th. However, when I just log into my SSOL account, I found that my registration appointment is on Spet 2nd!!! I checked some of the courses I want to take and they are already closed!!!! Is it because selection priority is given to more senior students? I am afraid that later I register, the fewer courses are available!!</p>
<p>Also, I want to take gateway lab but its status is 'restricted', what should I do?</p>
That’s the way it works. Hope for a better registration time next semester/year. You’re a freshman so you don’t have any case for necessity.</p>

Only engineering students take gateway and you’ll be preregistered for it automatically one of your first 2 semesters. Assuming you’re eng, you should have Univ.Writing signed up for you now if you don’t have gateway.</p>

But here is the tricky thing:
I checked my SSOL yesterday and the system said my first registration app was on 10am 25th August.
Today, just a few hours ago, I checked SSOl again, and it says my registration app is on 2nd Sep!!!
Are they playing me around!?</p>
<p>As far as I know freshmen register during orientation, after we talk to our advisors and stuff…my registration times are in September too. However it seems that we have been automatically placed into core classes like lit hum and frontiers or Uw…I noticed this when I looked under schedule in Ssol and I did not register myself for anything</p>
<p>I thought that freshman register during orientation, and then everyone has another registration period right after. That would seem fair as everyone else has already been through one registration period.</p>
<p>and there are CC sections of gateway you can register, but may not be available until sep. 2.</p>
<p>and in the end a lot of this is gonna be shifting as they make sure the ssol system can handle thousands of users on it at the same time. so don’t worry about it until you hit campus. you can’t register until then anyhow.</p>

The system shows that my regis app is on 2nd Sept.
BUT NOW I AM ABLE TO REGISTER anyway!!!
I have registerred 6 courses (will drop one)!!!
They are definately playing me around@!@</p>
