So am currently doing mechanical engineering , my first year of college i didnt take any engineering classes because i was in this program “pre-engineering” to get into engineering and i got in . I am currently in my second year now taking mechanical engineering class in my second semester and dont think i will make it far . I have a 2.89 Gpa( pretty low. Im just stressing alot and want to change my career, i am currently taking calc 3,physics2,static and intro to mechanics and found out math is really weak and feel like that will hurt me in the future thats why i want to switch now. Should i risk it and keep going with this knowing i am weak in math or just give up? I still got to take thermodynamics and differential equations, material science and all the mechanical based classes which i dont even know what i will do in those. Just meed help from a mechanical engineer to see if it get easier or harder , bring my gpa is not going to happen i think , right now my grades not looking good. Please hep
You should do what you want to do. There’s absolutely no reason to bull ahead of engineering doesn’t interest you. If you do choose to move forward, you could dedicate a few hours per day to watching Kahn videos to backfill. You might have to go back pretty far, but that’s ok. Don’t move forward without doing that or you will struggle and might not succeed. Good luck.
What are you thinking of changing to? What major do you find interesting?
