Confused on application standards and process- please help!

I'm a US student, applying as international freshman to McGill.

What major/school/faculty at McGill should I apply to if I want to eventually go to med school? As in- what is the proper place to apply to if I want the equivalent of a pre-med major?

Also, on this page:
Admissions standards (US)
, it lists the minima for each different study at McGill... so does that mean if I don't meet those requirements, I can't apply? For example the minima is like A- for some of the faculties... I don't have an A- average or anything like that, only a GPA (unweighted is 3.8).

Last question:
I'm retaking my last SAT 2, Chemistry, in October (this week!) so should I wait until I get my (hopefully improved) score to apply?
I don't want to wait too long since McGill has rolling admissions, and applying early will probably help my chances...

I will die of gratefulness if someone addresses all my questions. THANKS!

It's also be nice if someone could chance me,
GPA: 3.868/4.0
Weighted: 4.4 I think? I took a ton of AP courses. I have all A's except for 2 C's and 1 B (the C's lower my chances a lot :()
SAT 1: 2390
SAT Subject Tests: Math; 800, Chemistry; 740 (will retake this week), History; 790

100% IN.

In fact, I think you are extremely overqualified. You should be looking at HYPSM. And then use WashU, Chicago, Northwestern, Vanderbilt etc as your safeties. You shouldn’t really be considering mcgill at all.

For some reason you do, you will 100% get a major scholarship. You will be many standard deviation away from the mean, so you will be one of the smartest people here. There is physiology, microbiology and immunology, neuroscience, anatomy and cell biology. They are all pretty popular majors for aspiring doctors.

I don’t think that ilikebananas is that much more overqualified for McGill than for WashU and Vanderbilt. As well, I know students with better records (i.e. 2400 SAT and 800’s on 2 or more subject tests and certainly no C’s or B’s: straight A+'s that did NOT get major scholarships at McGill unless one considers $3000 to be a major). I agree that ilikebananas is probably a shoe-in at McGill.

Thanks for the comments. They’re quite encouraging, though @ econgrad, I don’t think any of those schools are safeties for anyone, lol.
I’m not applying to any private schools due to some issues with my behavioral record at school.

I’d like to know about when I should apply— should I wait until I finalize all my SAT scores? or is there a way I can send them in AFTER I apply.

^^^

And public schools are going to look any differently at your behavioral record? If it’s an honor code violation then I’m going to say your *****ed either way, public or private. Mainly because there’s plenty of other kids with the same academic record, but wtih a clean moral/behavior record.

You’re wasting your time retaking chemistry.
Anything over 700 is GREAT in the eyes of ivys.

I have to agree with econgrad here. In fact you’re making the competition waaayyy stiffer for American students like me. But good luck to you =)

Choose the faculty of science. I’d go ahead and send in your application and whatnot.

Thanks for the replies.

I have another question— on the application there is no where for me to list resume type activities such as my jobs, extracurriculars, etc. Is there a way I can send McGill my resume or would they just throw that out?

only the grades and test scores are needed for admission application.
