Confused on Schedule

I have registration coming up and so far I have

Electives (1/2 semester)
French 3
IB Bio 1
Calculus

Now for the last two I have 2 options. I can either do IB American History and English which will bring my GPA down a lot or I can do Normal American History and English which will raise my GPA a bit. My cumm. is 2.9/4.0

I know it's bad but any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

i say take IB American History and English and get an A! but yes i go against taking the easy route cuz colleges can see that and they want to see u challenging urself

If you can get a B or better in IB American, then I'd say take it. If you think you'll probably end up with a C in IB, then I'd say take regular American history.

If you are applying primarily to state schools, they are more numbers driven. Generally they will look at the gpa and not have time to check out the difficulty of the curriculum as much.

take regular so you can bring your GPA up, esp if you are applying to state schools.

State schools means University of Colorado and Colorado State University right? The averages in IB are on the border of C+ and B-. Does that change anyone's answer?

In applying to state school, it would be nice to be above 3.0 overall.

Oh ok thanks..any other opinions?
