Confused on what to do

Here's the deal, I have applied to be a student intern at the Feinstein Institute for medical research but Im having my doubts about if I got in. So if i don't get in, my options are probably do research at Hofstra, participate in NYLF/Medical (which I also want to know if its worth paying that much), or get a job/internship. Im pretty much doing this to have something on my app where I haven't wasted a summer. That being said I also have the option of going on vacation and seeing my cousins. If i could get some suggestions it would really relieve some stress. Thanks.

Are you looking at applying with likely acceptance to Ivies or are you more looking at state schools? Without knowing how qualified you are right now, it is hard to know what to advise. I don’t think any college wants you to miss out on family but there would need to be some compelling reason why you didn’t find something productive to do with the rest of your summer… I’m assuming it won’t be a 10 week vacation. You have to know what is right for you to do. I personally would choose something productive or figure out a way to make a vacation educational, humanitarian or some such.
