for the record, what i have heard from people who called admissions, the point system is no longer being used (or possibly not guillotining students early on – i could be wrong though). I heard they are holistically reviewing the applicant, paying close attention to GPA, EC’s (very very important) and the essay. Personally, I am glad to see this, about time the SAT didn’t ruin students chances. I was accepted with a 4.6 W GPA, 1920 SAT, a great essay, and a few ECs - of which I was highly committed to and depicted hundreds of hours of community volunteer work and leadership roles (I didn’t have many EC’s, but the ones I chose to add, I was devoted to whole-heartedly).

I think they are looking to accept more well rounded students that depict good things across the board (in know way am i trying to brag, thats just my “straight” opinion).
