confused question

  • During seasons when ticks carrying Lyme disease are most prevalent , sings could be posted to deter hikers (about their venturing ) into tick-infested areas. A) about their venturing B) from their venturing C) from venturing

the right answer is C but why B wrong !? i choose B because i see it approach to the original sentence,is it?!

C is correct. “Their” sounds wrong. It isn’t needed because it is already clearly identified what the subject is and there is only one subject in the sentence.

Again, there’s an idiom error. The expression is “deter from.” Additionally, gerunds (“venturing” in this case) are to be avoided whenever a better alternative is available.
