Hello. I really need an experts advise on this one.
I'm about to start undergrad, i choose to study Economics - finance.
I will be probably finishing all my courses in one and a half years (Fall 10).

I started thinking about my grad studies and im totally confused everywhere i search i only get MBA programs.
i want to get into a Ph. D program, hopefully a very good one, internationally.
I'm doing my undergrad in Lebanese American University (The best in Lebanon).

What should i be looking into? What would do me good as a post grad?

I don’t believe there are any real rankings for finance. There is apparently one ranking which lists the programs by # of articles published. That may be of help. Otherwise, I would use the MBA rankings as a guide.

BTW here are a couple of posts which should provide some insight in regards to Finance vs Economics (PHD):

Thanks for your reply
well my goal is to basically is to become a professor, as well as work in a business/financial firm… and eventually have my own company…

The first thing you need to do is make sure it’s likely that you can even get a professor position in your Country. In the US we have tons of kids getting PhDs and very, very few teaching jobs for them.

Theres a high demand for professors with good degrees here!

Plus i have been thinking about financial planning a lot too.
when i finish my undergrad do i have to do masters or can i directly go into a PhD program?
