Int’l, ok ECs, good essays. Only safeties so far. My intended major’s Physics too so really hoping for SB/LA/Cal, but I’ve no idea if I’ll be able to pay for any. :P

Maybe financial aid is a really significant peoblem…

UCs are supposed to be need-blind for domestic applicants. They give no aid to internationals, so doesn’t figure in the equation.

Must go now. Wish you all the best! You can always PM me if you need help with the essays.

Thank you so much. Have a nice day.

I got rejected by UCSD too. Lol. What now…

You did not satisfy the art requirement? That could be it. I’m surprised the website accepted the application. Maybe you satisfied it some other way.also the average UCGPA at most UC’s is near 4.0 these days. Thus the comment about "UC davis –>“applicants who are admitted generally well exceed UC requirements”.

BTW, I believe SAT II’s are nor required, but ARE considered.

@Myomoo It looks like your disadvantage was the the fact that you only had one year (or was it 2?) of education in the US and that seems to be hurting your chances. Unfortunately what you needed was a good college counselor that could have to help you with your application. I am hoping you will get into one of the UCs but looking at your credentials, I would have you look at a community college that will give you the background to transfer into a UC in your Junior year.

Yes, I know it is not the same, but at the end of the day it only matters which college you have the degree from. I am rooting for you…

Thanks. But I wish to get into a UC. Really want that… :(

^Then if you don’t get in, you should really consider a CCC and transfer with a TAG agreement. Cheaper too!

A more detailed UCD profile.

I am in the same position as you. 3.85 UC GPA and a 33 ACT (~2200 SAT) with all SAT IIs above 750 and all AP exams at a score of 5.

I don’t know why we were both waitlisted at Davis and rejected at UCSD. I was also rejected at Cal Poly SLO… I’m not sure what to do at this point :/

I am waitlisted for both UCD and UCSD… :(

@GamerAddict Hey. Man. We have similar experience. Did you also apply to UC Berkeley and UCLA? I just wonder why we are so unlucky… Do you have good ECs and unique essay in your application?
