so i applied preferred admissions to the school of pharmacy. i followed mich's directions and wrote pre-pharmacy as my major, applied to LSA, and checked off the are you applying for preferred admissions box. now, my status says academic program is LSA Ug Degree

and my academic plan is LSA Undeclared. wth how did this happen?

it’s not an official major but its what the preferred candidates have to apply under since we cant directly apply under pharmacy, since that is graduate school only.

and really all LSA are initially undeclared? is this a temporary thing like a couple of days and my status online will eventually change to pre pharmacy? or when will it change?

im debating about whether or not i should call the admissions office

heyhey…D1’s application was for exactly the same program as you (LSA, pre-pharm, preferred admission) and her status on Wolverine Access shows the same as you. I think it’s just the standard way of listing these applicants (possibly most applicants) to LSA. Nothing to worry about as far as we know. Good Luck!!

i think you find out about the preferred admit programs a couple months after recieving your decision into LSA. or atleast, i remember reading something along those lines.

so i am concluding from all of this that i am still competitive for preferred admissions and that my application will be reviewed under a pre pharm intention and not undeclared, am i correct?

also, on the website, it says my application was received 12/02/10. I submitted part of the application on 11/30/10 and the other part very early in the day on 12/01/10. Everything was submitted via Common App online. Just making sure that my application date of 12/01/10 still stands and 12/02/10 is just the day they began looking at applications/progressing them because of the whole you can send your app til midnight thing. I want to make sure this is the case because I think the application for preferred admissions for pharmacy was due 12/01/10. Just want to make sure I’m safe!!

Ignore the dates on WA. There is a great deal of latency with the high volume of apps they’re getting.

For example, I applied October 30th and WA says all my stuff arrived 11/12 or something like that. Still, I met the 11/1 deadline for early action. Go figure.
