<p>My parents figured out financial aid stuff tonight and found out the following. According to Federal Methodology, our EFC is $30,000. Institutional methodology predicts an EFC of $40,000. </p>

<p>Since I'm applying ED to Kenyon, which uses both the FAFSA and the CSS profile and whose tuition is under $40,000, should my family even bother to apply for financial aid?</p>

<p>Applying for financial aid can never hurt. If you get some, great! If you get some, but you don't like your package (loans, etc) you can always turn them down, if you don't get anything... well you're right back where you started, but at least you had a shot at saving some money.</p>
