I am currently studying electrical and electronics engg at a university in southern india, and have finished just one semester of my first year here. Although the college is really good, and regarded quite highly, I feel extremely out of place.
The thing is, after finishing my schooling, I faced a dilemma concerning what field to do my undergrad degree in. Science has always fascinated me, and I've always enjoyed studying it. But I have also thoroughly enjoyed economics and subjects relating to trade and market. I was confused whether to take up engineering or some other subject in the business field. However, after taking suggestions from a lot of people, I decided to go in for engineering. Now, electrical and electronics engg. as some of you know, I'm sure, is among the toughest engg courses. And now that college has begun and I am experiencing the essence of these subjects first hand, I somehow don't see myself doing this course in the future. I don't enjoy it all that much, and also am finding it really hard to cope up.
Unlike universities in america, it is almost impossible to switch from one course to another in india. After just a month of college, I feel this course (or more generally, the science field) isn't for me. After several discussions with my family, I have decided to reconsider doing my undergrad in electrical and electronincs engg. I intend to make a decision by the end of this semester (december).
However, I don't know how to go about taking the decision. I need help in trying to figure out what is best for me at this point. And with all the background and my current state of confusion and frustration, I intend to give anyone willing to offer a suggestion a full picture. Please reply if you have any thoughts on this, I would be happy to consider them. Thanks for reading.

Correction: I have finished only a month of my first semester here, not the entire semester.
