After giving your application an initial review, we have determined that one or more documents, supporting materials, or additional information are required before further reviewing your application.

Is this good? I can say that my final marks are good. my thoughts are if they need my final marks, it is like admitted, but need final high school grades marks?

I definately recommend calling. The admissions office people are very helpful, and they'll tell you what is missing. It's not your final transcript (they know this doesn't come till June) , but maybe something like SAT scores, essay, etc.

When my son applied, his online essay got eaten by the computer. We noticed it wasn't appearing on his online application anymore, called them, and were told to mail it in directly.

actually, it is my final high school transcript. and for the record, i applied for the spring semester. well, what i thought is that why do they need my transcript of they can review applicants without the final transcript. I also lived OOS.

Sorry, I was assuming you were applying for fall. At any rate, go ahead and call them. It sounds like they still need something before you can be admitted, and spring quarter is coming up pretty fast.

you're implying that if my grades are good at my final transcript, i would definitely be admitted? yea, spring quarter is almost here, I'm rushing my final transcript. but i want to know why they need it. is it possible that they havent taken a look at my transcript, and just decided to need my final transcript?

No, no! I'm saying that the admissions office seems to be saying they need some piece of paperwork or information before they decide whether you can be admitted or not. Call them and find out what they need.

actually, they told me that they needed my final high school transcript. why do they need them? i've read somewhere that even some people doesnt need them to be admitted?

Yours is not to question why, yours is just to . . . make sure they get what they want. It's their game, they get to make the rules.

To expand a bit, they want transcripts so they can see an official record that confirms your school experience and shows that you are capable of doing the sort of work they expect.

It could just be a part of your online app, i ran into a similar problem...and then they mailed saying to complete a portion of the application that they sent through mail and return it. sent it ASAP, and then the status changed to "advanced to full review".
