Confused

I live in Australia and have completed an undergraduate Bachelor on Paramedic practice. I am looking for information about what I would need to do to be eligible to apply for medical school in the USA.

In order to be eligible for medical schools in the US, most school require that you have earned a minimum number of credits (typically 90) at an accredited US or Canadian college or university.

Unless you attended one of the colleges on this list–

AMCAS, the clearinghouse for medical school applications, will not accept or verify your transcript. Having a verified transcript is basic requirement to be able to apply to medical schools.

There are a handful of exceptions–

Georgetown School of Medicine will considered degrees awarded at foreign institutions on a case by case basis:

see: https://som.georgetown.edu/prospectivestudents/degrees/md/guide

About 8 osteopathic medical schools in the US will accept foreign coursework for application on a case by case basis.

Aside from admission issues, you must also have a means of paying for med school in the US. As an international, you not eligible for government loans (which is how most US med student pay for med school) and must be able to secure your own financing for med school. Costs for 4 years are in the $250K-$350K range.
