Confused???

In the Harvard website it says when you apply you have to submit either ACT or Sat which I get, but its says you also have to submit two SAT subjects?? What does that mean and do you have to do that if you are only taking the ACT? :-/

Harvard requires you to either do the ACT or the SAT as your main standardized test, but they also seem to require two SAT Subject tests (https://sat.collegeboard.org/about-tests/sat-subject-tests) no matter which main test you take. The SAT Subject Tests (there’s around 20 different ones) are basically another standardized test that colleges sometimes require, but the bonus part is that you get to pick which ones you want to take, which is especially beneficial if:

  • You're taking the June test date and you just finished the class for the Subject Test
  • You didn't do as well in the english section of the SAT, and you take two Subject Tests in math and science to outweigh it a little (or vice versa)
  • You're fluent in a foreign language or have studied it for a few years
  • You plan on majoring in something in the field of science, so you can the SAT Subject test on Chemistry or Physics

They’re easier than the actual SAT, IMO, and there’s plenty of review guides out there for each individual subject test. I hope I helped, and good luck! (:

oK Thank u! that really cleared everything up!

You can take ACT or SAT, and the subject tests
