confused

I'm currently a high school senior, and I'll be enrolling UVa in the fall. I was hoping someone would help me out by explaining some things to me. When is it best to take your MCATs? I know that some say its best to take it during the end of 2nd/beginning of 3rd year in college. Is this true? Does this mean you have take general chemistry with labs, organic chemistry with labs, physics with labs, biology with labs all before your 3rd year?

I plan on doing a double major on Anthropology and Biology.

So what would my schedule look like?

Should I take Gen Chem + lab with Bio + lad the first year and OChem + lab and physics +lab the next year?
I'm just confused about the scheduling. How many classes(not credits) does a typical pre-med student take during a semester?

Take the MCAT whenever you've been able to take the courses that are required for it. It is highly recommended that you take the MCAT early in or before the summer after your junior year if you want to go to medical school without taking a year out. It takes approximately a month to get MCAT scores back, and you probably want them back before you submit your AMCAS application the summer after your junior year.

Your plan looks fine. Gen + Bio freshman year, Phys + Orgo sophomore year.

Great major combination, by the way. :)
