Confused

My boyfriend and I applied to UMich in early September. 2 weeks ago, he recieved a letter saying that they had reviewed his application, but they would like him to take the ACT again for further consideration. Has anyone heard of this before? He's been trying to contact the admissions office. He scored very low on the ACT, but why wouldn't they have just rejected him if they didn't like the scores? We don't know what to make of it!

thats really weird but I think if you are instate, they do that

I have never heard fo this either, but it is well worth the trouble to retake the ACT. It sounds like they liked what they saw but needed a higher ACT to consider your friend for admittance. What was your boyfriend's score?
