I remember listening to the games on the radio in the car with my mom, who was a bigger fan than I was, or laying on the couch in the summer with the A/C (window units, of course) droning, watching the games on TV, again with my mom.

Dad was usually at the stadium operating the cameras. We used to be able to get in for free all the time. Met the players, too. I have a collection of signed baseballs and bats that is probably worth a pretty penny, and the baseball glove that I used for softball in High School used to belong to Luis Tiant, who gave it to me one night when he had dinner at our house. I still have it, and it's in the same shape it was when he gave it to me.

You good for nothing bum!
OK, I'll brag about MY contacts so you can envy me..
I was personal friends ( still am) with Leonard Nimoy's personal secretary for all the years of his Star Trek TV series, and his stints on Mission Impossible. As a teenager I had total access to the Paramount studios to do whatever I wanted. Got to be a regular at so many shows the stars would come over to me. More than once I was told I reminded them of their teenage daughters....I had all kinds of signed stuff...but didn't really keep it once I got married. Oh well.

Scotty dead????? Where have I been living?? I had no idea! Who will beam me up now?? Favorite Scotty quote: "I transported the whole kitenkaboodle to the Klingons, where they'll be no tribble a'tall." ;)

Meeeee too Oregon mom. Actually I want to be 'beamed up' whenever I want...and I want the medical treatments of the 23rd century...2 years ago our firstborn went through a serious bout of testicular cancer. 2 surgeries and 4 long rounds of chemo later he is cancer free, thanks be to God but at what a physical price!...Over and over again , the words of Bones came to mind: "Please don't leave him in the hands of 20th century medicine!!!"
( from Star Trek 4, when Checkov needed brain surgery.)
