Confusing Dining System

<p>I think I kinda-sorta have the Dining System figured out, but I'd like for somebody (preferably not an incoming freshman, but rather a sophomore or higher) who can explain to me how the Meal system works.</p>

<p>As I understand it, the "meals' in the Meal-Plan are for dormitory food (read: Residential Restaurants), which are located in AI and Lothian but not in Pentland, and "on-campus restaurants" (the stuff that's NOT dorm food) are where you spend Dining Dollars.</p>

<p>Is this close or am I totally wrong?</p>

<p>So the Residential Restaurants are open to everybody, and the places like Scotty’s run on either Dining Dollars or actual money?</p>

<p>Yes that is correct, im sorry I am a freshman also, but I spent some money at Scotty’s last night, but they ate up my dining dollars instead of real money, its just a swipe and its all paid for, so careful not to lose your ID!</p>
