Confusion about Acceptance Letters & Honors Program

Congratulations amandakayak; that’s also encouraging to us in terms of timetable!
Good luck with the scholarship, too.

My son just got his acceptance letter with the “eligibility for Honors college” as part of it. From what I’m reading , he should get his separate honors college packet soon and, maybe, a scholarship letter later on. If you’re accepted into the Pitt honors college, do you have to decide early (before May 1)? We’re waiting for RD on NYU and BU (neuroscience major) and want to do a comparison in April before making a final choice.

No, you can wait until May 1.

Quick Question: (for any of you who might know)

I got my acceptance for honors as well as the school of engineering about a week ago but I also applied to the Guaranteed medical program (its basically provisional acceptance at the medical school) at UPitt. Does anyone know when they should notify me of their decision on the medical program?

thanks!

For the guaranteed medical program, it requires further application and an additional interview. Have they emailed you about supplying additional information? I believe someone had posted about getting an email from the medical program.

I applied to the med program too… Have not heard back or received a secondary application.

By “apply” do you mean that you designated yourself as a potential pre-med student on your Pitt application? Because that is what I was told I needed to do to be considered for the guaranteed med program, and then in mid-November I received an e-mail inviting me to complete the actual application. I’ve also heard that they begin inviting students for interviews in February.
