currently enrolled in a local comm. college
taking two classes for the summer (err. 6 week term to be exact)
econ and english 1a, each worth 3.00 credits
i’m wondering if 1.00 credit for one college is necessarily equal to 1.00 credit for another college assuming complete trasnfer of the same title class…
also how does UC factor in the weight of these credits for the final UC GPA calculation (straight “honors” points?). to be honest i’d really like the taking of these classes to help out my UC gpa, which is only a 4.1 right now.
help please the drop deadline is fast approaching for both of these classes…
<p>"i'm wondering if 1.00 credit for one college is necessarily equal to 1.00 credit for another college assuming complete trasnfer of the same title class..." Yes, as far as credit transfers are concerned. If one college is on the quarter system, you multiply by 2/3 to convert to semester credits. Similarly, multiply semester credits by 3/2 to convert to quarter credits.</p>
<p>"also how does UC factor in the weight of these credits for the final UC GPA calculation (straight "honors" points?). to be honest i'd really like the taking of these classes to help out my UC gpa, which is only a 4.1 right now." UC will count each college class as a one-semester honors class, so two classes together will count the same as an honors high school class (assuming your high school schedules classes by years).</p>
