<p>I'm applying for either Bioengineering or Bioengineering: Biotechnology at UCSD. I really don't understand the difference between the two majors though, as the course tracks are nearly identical. Is it simply that Bioengineering is more physics-heavy while Bioengineering: Biotechnology is more chemistry-based?</p>

<p>Read the first page of the PDF, under "Departmental Focus". They sound pretty different to me.</p>
