I just had a quicky about priority application deadline. It says on the website that the priority application deadline is 12/1 whereas the regular decision application deadline is 1/1. Exactly what do they mean by these two deadlines? I also remember reading it once that if you're planning on doing an interview, you must send in your application by the priority application deadline. Is this right? It would be great if people who have applied to Harvard before can verify this for me! Thanks a lot!

Harvard stopped doing early action as you probably know, which means all of their applications are coming in at once. The priority deadline of 12/1 is for them so that they can start reading applications sooner. It will not impact your admissions decision as long as it is in by january 1. However, if you are in an area with limited alumni interviewers, the sooner you get your application in the more likely that you will get an interview (which getting one or not will also not really impact your admissions decision).

My dad is an alumni interviewer and this is from info he told me last year when i was applying
