I’m a little confused about submitting recommendation letters through the Common App, and my counselor’s explanation was less than stellar. If a teacher writes you a recommendation, can you send that letter to more than one school? Thanks
Yes - I’m pretty sure if you apply through the Common App, the same 2 teacher recommendations are sent to every single Common App school you apply to. As for the logistics, I think on the Common App you invite your chosen teachers to write a recommendation, and then they upload their recommendations onto the system. You should probably waive your right to see them so universities don’t question the inevitably positive things your teachers have to say.
Hope this helps! xx
Awesome, thank you so much!!
To add to what sansulottes said…yes, the same ones can go to multiple schools (the easiest way to do it), but if there is a reason you want a different teacher’s recommendation to go to a specific school you can do that too. But unless there is a really good reason, I would stick with keeping it simple, use the same recommendation letters for all the schools.
Unless your school uses Naviance. If so, then all teacher recs are sent this way.
