Confusion about UC's?

I want to go to UCLA but I am having some confusion. Does UCLA count freshmen and senior years? Do they have the same grading scale out of 4.0?

It’s out of 4.0 GPA, and they calculate you UC GPA using A through G approved courses, weighing certain classes(some honors and all AP/IB)

They do not use your Freshman GPA to determine admission, just to see whether you fulfill application requirements (like four years of english). They also have no way to see your Senior year grades as applications are in before November’s end, before first semester grades come out. However, bad senior grades (D range or multiple C’s) could be grounds for a rescind even after an offer of admission.

thanks that helped alot

so they use 2 years of high school when we’re in it for four? that makes sense…

They can see your first quarter grades (if your school has official 10 week grades). You are also limited to 8 semesters of weighted courses for the UC GPA.

The UC’s look at your freshman year grades, but they don’t determine elegibilty. Of course, if you flunk something like P.E., (as an admissions officer told me), “we won’t like that”. Also, they look at your senior classes and if it is a hard work load or not.

GOOD LUCK :]

I’m not sure they would know if you got an F in PE. It doesn’t go on your application.
