Confusion on admissions decision

I attend a collegiate high school and will be graduating with my AA and High School Diploma at the same time. When I went to check my status i got this message...

As a prospective student receiving your AA degree or 60 credits in addition to your high school diploma, we will be reviewing your college GPA, and the completion of prerequisite courses for your major, along with other pertinent information for transfer admission. Your major is very important in the transfer review process. Please contact the Office of Admissions immediately if you need to add or change your major.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to evaluate your college-level coursework.

Sincerely,
Office of Admissions
University of Florida

My confusion comes as I applied as a freshman first time in college (this is the correct way according to my counselor) and it almost seems as though they are trying to accept me as a transfer. I know other people at my school got in and they applied the same way I did. Does anyone know about this message or have received it as well. Thanks!

Nick...

@nforsyth3 - your status means you were not able to be offered admission as a freshman so now UF is going to consider you as a transfer student. Your major and college classes now become very important. If you haven’t already sent your college transcripts you should do so right away. If you need to change something about your application you should email transfer@admissions.ufl.edu with the changes.

Thank You! Should I email them since I have added a few more classes this semester?

@Melissa96

I am in the same situation. When I applied I sent them my college transcript that had my grades up to the summer 2013 semester. I know also have my grades for fall 2013. Should I send the latest transcript?

I did @gigifernz I sent one around November and that had my current classes after I dropped one. I also believe my counselor sent out transcripts mid year but I may be wrong.

@nforsyth3 and @gigifernz - that would bee a good decision for both questions.

Also would it be necessarily easier to get in as a transfer if my college gpa is a 3.75 and I have all my prereqs completed?

@gigifernz - definitely off to a good start.

Same situation here. When can we expect notification?

@ZooLoose - the applications are forwarded to the colleges for the decisions to be made (if they are ready). Decisions tend to take a few weeks but there isn’t a specific notification day. It helps to check your application status - if things are going to be requested - that is where you will see it.

Do you have to have 100% of prereqs complete to be accepted? If you are 1 or 2 classes short, will the student be considered?

It really depends on your major and what you’ve completed.

thank you for your help. I am stressed.

I checked my sons status last night at UF Freshman’s “Check Your Status At” and it said to check in later. Today is says “The Office of Admissions has completed a preliminary review of your application for admission.” There is not an acceptance, deferred or denied - Very confusing??
