Okay. So I've decided to go to tech. Yay! And they accepted me.

So now I'm doing all this stuff from BuzzPort and I need some assurance. I payed the $250 acceptance fee, good, right?

So I have two other things in the "Deposit" section. Family Housing Fall 2010, and Fall 2010 Housing. The former $300, the latter $600, I believe. So, what am I paying, both?

There's a tab for "Payment" too, which involves a text slot where you fill the amount of money (dunno how much...). Do I do something with that right now?

I read somewhere that my PIN is MM/DD/YY if I never made one, which I'm sure I didn't. Also something about "#gtid." Am I supposed to come upon this stuff in my acceptance/housing payments? I already logged in using presumably my "#gtid" (first initial, last name, three random numbers?)

So... yeah. Any help is appreciated for those who have been through all this. Thanks in advance future classmates :).

If you’ve paid the $250 deposit, that’s a good thing and means your spot on campus is secure.

Housing is another issue. The deadline for your housing deposit is May 1, so there is no immediate problem, but you still want to take care of it.

Whenever you deal with financial issues, it’s important to call the Bursar and ask them exactly what needs to be done. If you mess up because someone gave you bad information, it’s your fault, not the person that gave the bad info. In this case, paying the wrong fee could mean that you do not have housing in the fall.

You can reach the Bursar’s Office at 404-894-4618. If they redirect you to Housing, their number is 404-894-2470.

I have another problem now. It’s about the housing. Is it typical that 2 hours after my 600 NOT-family housing payment, the Apply for Housing page still says “Our records indicate you do not have your Fall 2010 prepayment of $600 on file at the Bursar’s Office. Please follow the below instructions to pay”?
I called the Bursar’s and they’re closed. And the Housing, also closed.

I would give it until tomorrow afternoon, then call.

I called again. The lady said she would call back?
Could the problem lie in that I went to the deposit page through Buzzport (which I imagine most people did), rather than the Office of the Bursar? The latter requires #gtId and PIN.

I can’t see what you’re seeing, but that shouldn’t have been a problem. When you log onto Buzzport, Buzzport logs you into OSCAR. Any payments you’re making are made through OSCAR (technically Banner), Buzzport just serves as the user interface. The Bursar will have to validate that, though.

I’m sure they’re getting flooded with calls right now from newly admitted students, so I wouldn’t be surprised that they have to call you back. That office is very good, so don’t worry about it.

Alright. I’ll wait some more… Thank you very much for your help GP!
