Confusion

I am deferred at Madison and was wondering if anyone knows how I could improve my chances. I am in-state.

I plan on majoring in sociology or social work, so I applied to the school of Letters and Science.

ACT: 23 (I know this is low. I am not a good test taker.)
GPA: 3.8 W 3.65 UW
Rigor of Classes: AP and IB throughout high school. (AP Calculus AB, AP Psych, AP Stats, IB English, IB TOK, and IB Theatre) I have received A’s and B’s in these classes.
EC’s:
Dance for over 14 years
Traveling Dance Company (Captain)
Gender Equality Club (Secretary)
Best Buddies
NHS
Math Honor Society
Social Studies Honor Society
Volunteer weekly at a hospital
Dance Teacher

Wrote a creative and well written essay
*Four letters of recommendation from school counselor, AP/IB teachers, as well as from my sociology teacher.

You were not denied. UW will decide if there is room for you once all of the applications (the deadline has not yet occurred, btw) have been reviewed. All you can do is wait to see what happens. Ignore college stuff for now and enjoy the rest of your senior year.
