<p>I cannot tell you what to do. You have to explore your options. Make a list. A mix of reach, match and safeties. So in a list of 10 colleges that you apply to, 2 should be a reach, 6 a match and 2 safeties. While it is good to be ambitious you also need to base it on facts and reality and so you have to be practical. it helps not to get emotional about the process. </p>
<p>Another opinion would be to explore the option of getting an undergrad here in India and save the money for a post graduate degree from US. The cost of a 4 year undergrad program is about the same as a 2 year post graduate program. And the chances of getting a job and work visa after a post grad are significantly higher.</p>
