Confuzzled: Did I self-study??

Alright, so this year I took three AP exams:
AP Calculus AB
AP US History
AP English Language

However, my english class was not an AP english course, and nobody else in my grade took the exam. My question is, since I received a score of 5 on the exam, did I self-study?
Here's why I'm confused:

1) I didn't study. I took a diagnostic test on Sparknotes, got a 5, and called it a day.
2) I didn't really need to study anything, considering I am already fluent in the English Language.

So, would a college view this as a "self-study"?

I’m not an expert on this, but: if you didn’t take the actual class for AP Language but you took the exam, you self-studied. Because you technically “prepared” for the test without an official AP class to help you.

Yes, you did.

Alright thanks. Because the self-studying process didn’t actually involve any studying…so I didn’t know.
