Congrats from Penn Students!

Reading this board makes me really freaking happy for you guys who will be joining us next year…really i remember checking online and doing homework at teh same time, having to reload like eighty million times and then lookingb up like “Oh, something’s written on the screen,” realizing it was the letter, and reading “Congratulations!” I was relieved more than anything So welcome to all of you…we’re excited for you!!

Any other current Penn students here post your congratulations if you want to!

To the deferred students, hold out hope…if you need anything we’re here for you…

Same to the students not offered admission…we love you guys, too, and WISH that you could join us next fall.

If you could offer tips for a deferred student, what would they be? I really want to get in

I have also been following developments here while studying for my finals (it was distracting, but also good for some study relief).

Congratulations on your acceptances. You have worked very hard in high school and by that you will soon join one of the most remarkable communities in the world.

For those who were deferred, don't give up yet. There is still a chance. Beef up your semester grades, get more awards... the usual process.

If you were rejected, I am sorry to hear that. However, you have to remember that just for applying to Penn, you have shown great ambitions, which over the long run will be more important than any college degree.

do they send an e-mail, or will i have to type in my PIN?

jhum111...you might want to call your regional rep or send him/her an e-mail before the break just to ask if if they felt something was missing...because the deferral letter taht was posted on the forum says that they would like more information...ask what specifically they would like to know more about you...also send a short letter or note (paper, mailed in) saying that Penn is still your first choice (not necessarily right away, because you may want to include information about the goings on in your life later on in the semester). About talking to your rep...definitely call directly and ask to speak with him/her because it's more personal and shows that you're mature enough not to be completely intimidated and realize that they're just people...not that it will necessarily win you any points but it's less awkward and evasive...And pray really hard that it works, and work hard on your regular apps in case it doesn't...Really, though, best of luck to you.

From this C2007 Dinosaur, congratulations to those accepted. I look forward to witnessing this incredible new class make Penn look better and us other classes look worse ;)

I can testify that mail you send actually WILL get read by your admissions rep, so don't shrug off the opportunity.

can i just mail it to you, so you can personally hand it to stetson, so feel better that it gets there?

I'm actually probably far less reliable than the Postal Service. Besides, he's grumpy from the day they start reviewing ED applications to the day they finish reviewing RD ones. No doubt he is upset at having to turn away fine and highly qualified applicants.

like moi, doubtless

can i trade a columbia in for a penn in?

Count your blessings..better Columbia than Cornell!

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted to Penn!! I know you will love it here.

For the future Wharton-ites, we have created a website just for you -- http://undergrad.wharton.upenn.edu/classof2010/. I hope that keeps you busy until we launch a more comprehensive (and even more aesthetically rich) version of the site.

Congratulations again!

Congratulations and welcome you guys! I too remember last year when I was so anxious to look at my results (although it was in April, not December for me) and being so thoroughly overjoyed at my acceptance. So now, here I am, looking out my window at the slight flurrying and studying for my chem final tonight. You'll have bunches of fun here, I promise :) But honestly, right now, I just can't wait to go home.. Weeee!

Congrats to the class of 2010! :-D Get ready for the time of your lives! It's hard to believe that it's been a year and a half since I sat nervously on a plane while my decision went online (I was on my way to Florida and couldn't check my decision until about 5 hours after they came out.. I was going NUTS)

I'm a SEAS sophomore and taking a much needed break from studying for finals (my next isn't until monday.. phew!) so if anyone has any SEAS questions, or just questions in general, i'd be happy to help out! :)
