Congrats NYU!

Not sure if any of you guys have seen the new Forbes ranking...we're #355 in the country...oh, darn, I thought we were gonna beat Bob Jones this year (they're #279). Let's not be too hard on ourselves, maybe next year?

America's Best Colleges - Forbes.com :p

the question is… WHO CARES?

well I think it’s pretty funny - HS students place so much importance on rankings, and the fact is rankings are just a number. According to this one, nyu isn’t even a top 300 school but Bob jones, probably the biggest joke of a college in the country, is. Most people applying to nyu do so because it’s a “top school”, whatever that means

lol NYU ftw!!!

jh2633: Don’t you see!?!! Now that Forbes has ranked NYU so low, the Bobst library will suddenly have millions of useful books disappear. Our professors will all become disinterested and unexpertized in their fields, and our students will completely lose the desire to study. CASologists will all decide to leave college to pursue careers in road construction. Sternies will decide business is not for them and transfer to small liberal-arts colleges around the rural north-east to study creative writing. Gallatinittes will start majoring in things as silly as “Biology” or “Mathematics.”

Oh well, I guess I better join the military now to save myself from such a fate.

My mom and I spent a while going through this list a few weeks ago. We had quite a laugh. :)

my old college is ranked 300 places higher than NYU , dang i made a mistake transferring lol

LOL well considering number 1 was the US Military Academy I’m not convinced it’s NYU that isn’t so good…

College rankings are the biggest loads of garbage on this planet. You’re telling me that an ENTIRE school can be summed up in just one number, and that this ranking holds true for every department, every prospective student, every financial situation, every interest, every student life preference, and every race, gender, political orientation, and religion? Anyone who uses these rankings for anything more than humor is dangerously misinformed.

355, but it feels like #1

congrats NYU!!! i’m so proud.

Good thing the only rankings people look at are US News and World Report.

we are 32 now in us news, yay for moving up a spot<333

This Forbes ranking is a complete joke. US News ftw for rankings. Btw, I’m actually not surprised that the US Military Academy is number one for Forbes. A lot of people think that it is the best school in the country( yes, even better than Harvard).

idgaf!
10char

I don’t see what’s the big deal about West Point, tons of kids from my high school go there and their stats aren’t all that good. Though my high school is also the number 1 JROTC program in the country, that could explain it lol.

The Forbes rankings also take financial aid into account, so come on, it was a dying battle lol. It’s also a big joke.

I’m a little disappointed NYU only moved up one spot in USNWR but, oh well. One step at a time right? lol

Only one spot? Meh… There’s always next year. At least we’re still in the Top 40!
