First of all I would like to say congratulations to all those who have been accepted to the Academy, it is an accomplishment not to be taken lightly. Unfortunately for me, I was not accepted this year, but I wanted to take the time to thank those cadets at the academy and the parents of cadets at the academy for all of their excellent advice that I have read over the years. It truly was a tremendous help in understanding the application and what I wanted to get myself into, and even though I didn’t get in the help was very much appreciated. I will however be accepting a ROTC scholarship at Virginia Tech. So thank you all for the help that you have given me and others over the years, and best of luck to those headed for the class of 2012!

Congrats on getting VA Tech, that is an honor also, especially from being OOS. If you still dream of the academy experience you can still apply next year.

Meanwhile have the time of your life and remember to make it to the point you did is also quite a compliment to you!

Congratulations on getting in VT ! I have a son who is a current junior there. It is a GREAT school. It is also tough to get into. With our local hs school here in VA if you don't have a 3.8 or better you may not be able to get in there. We get alot of kids who are turned down and it is a state school.

I didnt get accepted to the academy the first time around. I am currently a freshman at the University of Florida and reapplied and finally got in for 2012. If the academy is truly your dream, you should apply again for 2013. I think that going to UF for a year has helped to prepare me for the academic challenges the academy has to offer. Good luck with ROTC.
