Congratulations on making deadline! (or not)

oh thanks, i didn't know that! i'm about to do that right now

11:58. Phew.

YAYY!!! 10 - last minute apps done over winter break because I got deferred from my top choice...hunting down my teacher through the Grand Canyon and Phoenix so he would send in my recommendation - which he tauntingly sent in on the LAST DAY to submit...around $700 in application fees...basically - Best New Year's spent ever

Whoa. That's a lot of moola. 60$ or 75$ seems like a lot of money by itself, but I'm amazed at how submitting that many applications can suddenly drive the fees to exorbitant prices.

Got all but my last one in yesterday. Submitted that one at about 10. Just have GaTech essay left to write which is due on the 15th.

How did you guys check exactly what time it was submitted? Mine just gives me the date..

Mann.... People here procrastinate a LOT worse than I do..

LOL.... I was also up till 6 AM trying to get everything through, and still couldn't get in JHU/UPenn.... So I went to sleep, woke up at 9 AM, and have been stress free since then (Except the fact that i just realized i had signed the dates for the documents 01/01/08 instead of 01/01/09..... lmao I think they'll be understanding :) )

damn i remember reading posts about people daring to submit theres at 11:59 and I was like shoot i'm not that crazy. haha what a hypacrite i am, i submitted my NYU ones right at 11:59 and I BSed on the supplement questions...i was deciding if i really wanted to attend or not. and just did it anyways for a backup. then i submitted the commonapp for it at like 12:06 something...ierno just trying my luck there using the "I'm on PST time."

but i did submit all my other applications yesterday and a couple hours ago.

haha now i've got 3 that are due tomorrow.
and 3 that are due later on in the month.

my duke one is all done and stuff but for some reason i'm just sitting here eating chocolate...

Alright, so I just realised after submitting that I didn't put my full name, date of birth and school on my essay. Am I totally screwed, or is that okay? Because I didn't even see that bit until it was too late. :</p>

^^^

Fu*k, I didn't either. I just realized that only shows up when you look at print preview.

Now I'm scared that submitting 1 minute late, and no header is going subtract tiny points from me.

^
You don't need all that stuff on it. When they print it, it will be like what it looks like when you do print preview.

^Yea, without all that header ****.

^
Your name is on it with your Common App ID # so you don't need that header.

Personal Essay - What personal information should I include?

The print/preview of the online Common App and hard copy of the Common App both ask the student to include the following:

"Attach your essay to the last page on a separate sheet(s) (same size please). You must put your full name, date of birth, and name of secondary school on each sheet."

Your name and Common App ID are automatically placed on the bottom of each page of your personal essay when you fill out the online version, so this is not necessary.

Gah! Thank you so much, I guess that's for mail in apps...

That would be why it's not on the online part...

Geez, I need to go to bed and stop worrying. This is the first time I actually feel like a senior. hah!

Thanks so much alicimoo

Thank you so much! Now I've just got to get auditions out of the way and I don't have to worry about the application process ever again. :P

i totally agree with you imac! after my last deadline, a month from now, i will totally feel like a senior, especially since my school band will be going to DISNEY WORLD!! WHOO!

Not at all. You met the deadlines that mattered. Go ahead and submit your payment; they're not even processed in real time anyway.

S had two different versions of the short answer so he had three versions of common application -- one for an EA application that didn't have his most recent ACT and SAT II scores on it because they came in after the submission. In any event, he apparently had a sentence or two he didn't like in the common application essay, fixed it and reuploaded to revision 1 BUT forgot to upload in the revision 2! Oh well is what I say but he was hugely bummed thinking it's going to skew his chances across the board! On the other hand if he doesn't get into either of those schools that were sent revision 2, we'll just blame that one awkward sentence. :)

Mine are all in! Besides the four due on 1/15, etc.

I can't believe some of you guys waited til 11:58!! I would be so nervous!! :) I submitted my last one on 1/1, 3 PMish. I'm glad I'm done (for now) but I'm ****ed the stupid apps took up my whole winter break :/

I paid over $300 in app fees because I didn't get the fee waivers done on time, and didn't want to jeopardize my chances. Of course, they probably would have taken them late, wouldn't they?
