Atlast your worries are over...mine are just beginning...I am applying this year :(

good luck...its all in the essay. start on it early, get GOOD advisement from english professors, be selective on the criticism you take. it worked for me...my dreams came true this week. UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSD, UCI, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly San Luis, CSULB, et al. all accepted me. not one rejection....

2 more weeks....2 more weeeks...2 more weeks..

LOL, yeah, ClaySoul.

It's interesting because I've sort of heard from the schools in order of importance... first Smith, then Wellesley, then UChicago, then Rice... then in two to three weeks from now, the huge-ies! prays

you're lucky you've heard from some, i might not make it to may 15 the way things are currently going.... ;)

soulrebelLBC- Im not so sure about the essay thing. I wrote mine literally the afternoon of november 30th (lots of drama had kept me from starting earlier, on top of the stress) and I dont think it was all that fantastic. Pretty generic actually. I had been told to start in May and edit down every week until apps were due. Yeah, that didnt happen. But it was a nice thought, i guess.

Oh well. Things worked out.

Anyways. good luck and such.

In regards to the essay thing, make sure you don't come off sounding like another BWRK ....that stands for Bright Well-Rounded Kid. They have thousands of those applying every year and many get in, but your chances increase if you set yourself apart from the BWRKs - not so much academically, but personally. In other words, your essay should give them an oppurtunity to like YOU, not your achievements.

Also, become familiar with the semicolon; it can be your friend.

Good Advice, WW. I just wrote a real essay about Me, my goals, achievements, hardships, etc. Adm to UCLA & UCB .
