I'm quite skeptical about this invite, though it seems like an interesting opportunity considering the prestigious speakers that are going to be there. I read the other threads about this, and they said that although it's not a scam, it isn't that much of a boost to your college application. You just show up, listen to speakers, get the ""award"", and leave. I live somewhat close to DC and am familiar with the area since I used to live there, so going there isn't a big deal and we can afford the price, but $1000? How greedy are they? And 3.5 GPA is a rather low standard. I'm interested by the speakers but would rather put the money towards starting my own business or something...Has anyone gone before? If so, was it worth it? Thanks

I can’t give you advice from firsthand experience as I’ve never done something like that, but unless you REALLY want to hear the speakers speak and can only see it happening through this program, then I don’t see why you would do it. You mentioned that it isn’t really a boost to your college application, and you are correct in thinking so.

That’s true, it’s just paying a ridiculous amount of money to see people speak. Not going to go
