has anyone ever been to this program? i'm really interested in participating in the spring semester .. does anyone know when the spring semester generally starts and ends? i'd appreciate any information [: as of now, i don't really know anything about it except for what's on the website. :/ which is very little.

I was a Congressional Page during the fall semester of 2006-2007. The fall semester started in September and ended late January, the 27th I think it was. The Congressional Page Program was the single most important program of my life. It was the best and most eye opening experience any junior in high school can possibly partake in. As a House page you have direct contact with congressmen on a daily basis. You don't just wave or say hi, they will regularly stop, and have conversations with you. Each congressmen or congresswoman is different of course.
After actually getting accepted, you have to commit five months away from your family living in Washington D.C. The city is beautiful and you will never be bored, honestly if you have the opportunity to be a page take it, take it, take it.
I saw in another thread the likely hood of getting kicked out of the program once you get there. If you use common sense and can control yourself for five months while you have the opportunity to work with congressmen and women on the house floor, the opportunities for recommendations more prestige than any of your high school colleagues.
Your schedule is waking up around 5:30a.m. getting ready for school, go to school until 9:00a.m. or 11:30 (or 11, I cant remember), the end time depends on the schedule of Congress, how busy they are. you go to work until 4:30, late shifts (just work a few more hours) are rotated. You get a lunch break too.

yours truly,
Congressional Page of '06 to '07
