I was invited to attend the Congressional Student Leadership Conference on Medicine and Healthcare ( sponsored by Lead America). This was my first time hearing about this program, and reading the information I recieved about CSLC it must be outstanding. Though I was wondering what have other college confidential users heard about the program. Have you've attended this program before? Are invitations rare, or many recieve this mail throughout your high school?

Anything else you can elaborate on CSLC?

this is unfortunately akin to a mass mailing based upon your psat scores and your expressed interest. it charges thousands of dollars for not very much.

I hate to rain on the parade, but it's really not a big deal. my impression of it is where rich preppy kids go when they want to feel smart and involved while just going off to have fun in DC for a week without parents.

So everyone gets a invitation number to ensure spots?

I'm sure the program must be outstanding.

they should have a sticky about these noob programs.

they are a complete waste of time.

I thought many seen the program as being outstanding. Over the summer I really only have one trip plan which is during August. Other than that, attending this program would be productive, interesting experience etc....
